- Know that it takes time and energy to lead effectively
- Don’t worry about being perfect
- Read and learn as much as you can from the experts/books/stories of others
- Remember to be excellent
Do the job as if you had the biggest title, the best office and the most substantial pay. You don’t get to control much in this life but you can control your attitude.
Remember that people – your staff – are watching you. When you strive to be excellent, it is contagious. Eventually, your team will try to strive for excellence too because that is what you model as their leader and that is what you expect of yourself and others.
